1974 Dodge Dart Sport 360
The Dart Sport 360 replaced the 340-powered model for 1974. Dodge's factory foldout calls it the sportiest Dart and gives it a 360-cubic-inch four-barrel V8 with dual exhaust, power front disc brakes, and special suspension. A period-reference rating of 245 horsepower and 320 lb-ft is retained as reported rather than treated as a factory-brochure figure.
The factory specification table shows a floor-shifted three-speed manual as standard. A four-speed manual and TorqueFlite automatic were available, with axle gearing dependent on transmission: 3.21 standard and 3.55 optional with a manual, or 2.94 standard with 3.21 and 3.55 optional with the automatic. Sure-Grip was available separately.
The 360 model also carried E70-14 tires on 14-by-5.5-inch wheels, power-assisted front discs with rear drums, rear deck-panel striping, and Dart Sport trim. Bench and bucket-seat interiors, a console, fold-down rear seat, sunroof, and several stripe and roof treatments let buyers vary the cabin and appearance.
The cited Ward table reports 3,951 Dart Sport 360 cars, all in its V8 column; ordinary six-cylinder and V8 Dart Sports are separate rows. Authentication starts with the LM29L4 VIN pattern and agreement among the fender tag, broadcast sheet, drivetrain stampings, axle evidence, paint, trim, and options. A 360 badge, stripe, or later engine swap cannot prove factory identity by itself.
