1971 Plymouth Road Runner 426 Hemi
The redesigned 1971 Road Runner put Plymouth's 426 Street Hemi into the new rounded B-body hardtop. The dual-four-barrel Hemi retained its advertised 425 gross horsepower and 490 lb-ft, and buyers could pair it with a four-speed manual or TorqueFlite automatic.
The Hemi sat at the top of the Road Runner engine list, but axle ratio, brake equipment, suspension hardware, hood treatment, and cabin options still depended on the exact order.
