Story
1969 AMC Javelin
The 1969 Javelin family combined two-door four-seat hardtop with base, SST, Go Package, Mod Package configurations. This page keeps those factory choices together without treating an engine, stripe, badge, or trim package as a separate car identity.
Engines and transmissions
The 232 six and 290 and 343 V8s covered regular cars, while the 390 supplied the top factory performance path. Transmission, induction, cooling, exhaust, axle, emissions equipment, and dates must match the selected engine path.
Chassis and brakes
Independent coil-spring front suspension and a leaf-sprung live rear axle supported every four-seat hardtop. Brake, steering, spring, damper, axle, ratio, wheel, and tire equipment varied by configuration and must be reconciled to factory and car-specific records.
Body, trim, and proof
Start with VIN or serial, body tag, title, shell, and ownership history. Then reconcile drivetrain, chassis, protected finish, cabin, trim, dates, and records. Replaceable badges, stripes, wheels, or a swapped engine cannot establish factory configuration.
