- The November 1974 factory parts catalog assigns compact V-line housing package 3723106 to the 8 1/4-inch axle at 51 13/32 inches long and lists two V-line axle shafts under service part 3723100. The catalog identifies this axle by a separate cover with ten screws, a 1 5/8-inch pinion shaft, carrier casting 2852904 or 2852905, and a bolted metal ratio tag. Its broad Valiant-line service applications do not replace the Duster 360-specific ratio and Sure-Grip rules or prove the original assembly in an individual car.
