Story
2015 Ford Mustang GT Performance Package
The first S550 Mustang GT Performance Package puts chassis development at the center of the pony-car story. It builds on the GT's 5.0-liter V8 with brakes, cooling, bracing and calibration changes. This page covers the standard 2015 GT Performance Package, not a later package, Shelby model or 50 Years Limited Edition.
A manual-transmission chassis package
Ford's final U.S. brochure specifies a six-speed manual and 3.73:1 TORSEN helical limited-slip differential for this package. The GT's V8 produces 435 hp and 400 lb-ft using 93-octane fuel. The automatic available on the ordinary GT is not part of this standard Performance Package configuration.
Brembo six-piston front calipers, staggered 19-inch wheels, heavy-duty front springs, a larger rear sway bar, chassis bracing and a larger radiator support sustained performance. Oil-pressure and vacuum gauges replace the earlier sourcebook's conflicting boost-gauge description. The package also deletes the rear spoiler.
Reading the photograph
Mustang Joe identifies the yellow car as a 2015 Mustang GT photographed at the 2014 Woodward Dream Cruise. Its fine-spoke black wheel design matches the GT Performance Package wheel illustrated in Ford's final brochure; spoiler deletion corroborates that interpretation. The Ford Racing windshield banner and display setting remain visible.
This is a representative factory-program exterior, not authentication of a VIN, retail production status, hidden equipment or chassis originality. The photographer did not explicitly name the package. Factory specifications describe the program and are not measurements of this display car. Production totals and original pricing remain unresolved.
