Story
1978 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
The 1978 Camaro Z28 family combined two-door four-passenger sport coupe with Z28 with four-speed manual, Z28 with three-speed automatic configurations. This page keeps those factory choices together without treating an engine, stripe, badge, or trim package as a separate car identity.
Engines and transmissions
LM1 engine, induction, manual or automatic transmission, axle ratio, sport suspension, dual exhaust, dates, and records define one Z28 configuration. Transmission, induction, cooling, exhaust, axle, emissions equipment, and dates must match the selected engine path.
Chassis and brakes
The Z28 package joined the LM1 350 to manual or automatic driveline paths, sport suspension, dual exhaust, 15x7 wheels, GR70-15 tires, and program appearance. Brake, steering, spring, damper, axle, ratio, wheel, and tire equipment varied by configuration and must be reconciled to factory and car-specific records.
Body, trim, and proof
Start with VIN or serial, body tag, title, shell, and ownership history. Then reconcile drivetrain, chassis, protected finish, cabin, trim, dates, and records. Replaceable badges, stripes, wheels, or a swapped engine cannot establish factory configuration.
