1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
The 1967 Camaro Z/28 was Chevrolet's factory-built Trans-Am homologation pathway, not a dealer conversion or later appearance package. Contemporary identity evidence should treat it as a Camaro coupe ordered with RPO Z28 Special Performance Package and the required supporting equipment rather than as a VIN-decodable model: CRG notes that the VIN alone does not identify Z/28, SS, or RS status, so authentication depends on body, drivetrain, and paperwork evidence.
The package centered on Chevrolet's 302-cubic-inch small-block, listed in drivetrain references as the 302ci/290HP Z28 engine. For 1967, CRG reports the Z/28 was available only with the M21 Muncie close-ratio four-speed. Automatic transmission claims are therefore excluded from this public record.
