Story
1957 Plymouth Fury
The 1957 Fury was Plymouth's two-door-hardtop performance model. This page keeps the drivetrain, chassis, finish, cabin, production, and identity evidence together without treating other Plymouth bodies or later Fury variants as the same car.
Performance configuration
The model-year engine range centered on the 318-cubic-inch V8 and 290 gross hp. Carburetors, intake, linkage, air cleaners, transmission, axle ratio, cooling, and exhaust must match the exact configuration and production date.
Chassis and trim
The 118-inch-wheelbase hardtop used model-year-specific suspension, drum brakes, steering, wheels, tires, and gold-anodized exterior treatment. Current white paint, gold trim, badges, or a later drivetrain cannot establish Fury identity.
Authentication
Start with serial, body, title, trim, and ownership records, then inspect dated drivetrain and chassis components, protected finish, upholstery, instruments, and controls. Reported production is model-wide context rather than a surviving-car count.
