Why It Matters
The 1958 Corvette mounted its fiberglass body to a boxed steel X-frame on a 102-inch wheelbase. Unequal-length front control arms, coil springs, shocks, and a stabilizer bar worked with a live rear axle on semi-elliptic leaf springs. RPO 684 added competition springs, shocks, stabilizer, an extra rear leaf, and faster steering equipment.
