- The current Ford service-specification scan lists eight conventional-car front coil identification colors. Green, red, aluminum, and yellow coils carry 2,075/2,175/2,275/2,375-pound normal-load capacities, 14.80/15.05/15.30/15.55-inch free heights, and 400 +/- 16 lb/in rates. Blue, orange, purple, and grey coils carry 2,025/2,125/2,500/2,225-pound capacities, 13.65/13.85/15.41/14.05-inch free heights, and 500 +/- 16, 500 +/- 20, 430 +/- 17, and 500 +/- 20 lb/in rates. Custom and Custom 300 rear springs use four leaves, 54.88-55.12-inch loaded length, and 2.00-inch width; the standard schedule is 805-843 pounds and 105-115 lb/in, while the heavy-duty rate is 130-144 lb/in. The booklet does not map each front color to engine/body/duty application or provide service part numbers, so an individual car still requires its build record and physical identifiers.
