- The October 13, 1967 factory AMA filing lists independent short-long-arm front suspension with tilted upper control arms for anti-dive, SAE 5160 coils measuring 10.61 inches at design height with a 3.88-inch inside diameter, 127-149-inch bar lengths and .575-.66-inch bar diameters, and direct-acting rebound-cutoff Autolite, Ford G.P.D., or Gabriel shocks with 1.00-inch standard and 1.18-inch heavy-duty pistons. Printed front schedules are 225 lb/in spring and 66 lb/in wheel rate for 200-cid body models 54, 62, 63, 71, and 76; 235 and 72 for 302-cid versions of those bodies; and 255 and 86 for regular 390 body models 54, 62, 63, and 76. The linked SAE 1080 front stabilizer is .69 inch for six-cylinder models except wagons and .72 inch for eight-cylinder models except the separately listed .85-inch GT. The Hotchkiss rear uses asymmetrically mounted 58 x 2.5-inch four-leaf SAE 5160 semi-elliptic springs with rubber bushings, compression shackles, and no rear stabilizer or track bar; the regular 200, 302, and 390-2V body-model columns list 88, 95, or 88 lb/in spring rates and 93.5 lb/in wheel rates.
