Notes
Ford's October 1, 1962 V8 AMA form, revised January 2, 1963, lists SAE 9260/5160 front coils with 400, 380, or 370 lb/in rates by engine and body schedule, 97 lb/in at the wheel, and design loads from 2,225 through 2,550 pounds. Passenger cars use a 0.69-inch linked SAE 1090 front stabilizer. Rear springs are 60 x 2.50 inches: ordinary passenger bodies use 103 lb/in at the spring and wheel with four leaves on Tudors or five on Fordors; convertibles use five leaves and a 955-pound design load; station wagons use six leaves at 126 lb/in and 1,175 pounds. The form separately lists 133 lb/in, 1,015-pound heavy-duty rear springs for models 62, 54, 63, 65, 75, and 76, plus a 154 lb/in, 1,300-pound heavy-duty schedule for wagon model 71. No rear stabilizer or track bar is listed. These engineering schedules do not supply service part numbers or prove factory lightweight identity or individual-car installation.
