- Notes
- Studebaker's May 1962 AMA specification, revised November 30, identifies a hypoid semi-floating Model 44 with a 1.5-inch drive-pinion offset. The standard differential has two pinions; optional Twin-Traction has four. Pinion and pinion-bearing adjustment use shims, wheel bearings are tapered roller, capacity is three pints, and the sheet specifies SAE 90 for summer and winter and SAE 80 for extreme cold, with Studebaker special lubricant for Twin-Traction.
