Ford's regular V8 and six-cylinder AMA sheets agree on self-adjusting, single-circuit hydraulic Duo-Servo brakes for non-wagon passenger cars. They specify riveted molded-asbestos linings, 177.5 square inches effective lining area, 212.7 square inches gross lining area, 346.5 square inches swept drum area, 58 percent front effectiveness, an integral Bendix vacuum-assist system, a 1-inch master-cylinder bore, 7.20 inches available pedal travel, 720 psi line pressure at a 100-pound pedal load, and 0.010-inch shoe clearance. The V8 sheet separately lists 198.1 square inches effective area, 920 psi line pressure, and available Cerametalex brakes for the 330-hp 390; it does not establish service-part or individual-car identity.
