2006 Chevrolet Malibu SS
The 2006 Malibu SS applies Chevrolet's performance package to the Malibu sedan. GM's model-year kit distinguishes it from the separate Malibu Maxx SS extended sedan, even where the two share powertrain and chassis equipment. This page covers the ordinary sedan body, not the Maxx.
SS-specific powertrain and chassis
The kit assigns the SS a 3.9-liter OHV V6 with variable valve timing and sequential multi-port injection. It pairs that engine with the 4T65-E automatic, not the non-SS models' 4T45-E. Manual shift mode is a feature of the automatic, not a separate manual gearbox. The SS has sport-tuned suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and 18-inch wheels; its rear spoiler differs from the Maxx SS design.
Evidence boundaries
The 238-CID entry follows the kit's published engine table rather than a derived exact swept volume. That table also lists 3880 cc; these source figures are retained as published, not treated as mathematically equivalent precision measurements. Output ratings carry the kit's SAE-certification footnote. Production counts, acceleration and unreviewed option combinations remain open.

No exact-2006 reusable sedan exterior is accepted. The existing 2006–2007 sedan photo lead does not resolve model year, and a 2006 Maxx SS image is not a substitute. Collection membership remains deferred while eligible imagery is absent.
