Story
2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi
The SSEi pairs Pontiac's full-size sedan with the supercharged 3800 Series II V6. Its engine and equipment must remain distinct from the naturally aspirated SE and SLE configurations.
Evidence boundaries
Pontiac's model-specific specification matrix establishes the output and equipment. The GM owner's manual identifies the supercharged engine as L67, VIN code 1. The 231-CID designation comes from MAHLE's engine application catalog, not a conversion of rounded 3.8-liter displacement. That parts catalog is not evidence of any particular replacement part originally fitted to this car.
The numeric final-drive ratio and SSEi curb weight remain unresolved: the brochure's 3.05 option-group figure and 3,590-pound weight belong to SE material. Generation boundaries, production counts and acceleration claims remain unasserted.
Photo pending
No reusable exact-2001 SSEi exterior has been accepted. Technical-literature images are reference evidence only. Collection inclusion remains deferred pending normal media eligibility and review.
