Story
2000 Dodge Intrepid R/T
This approved R/T target is the production sedan, not the similarly named NASCAR racer. Its reviewed factory package literature pairs the 3.5-liter Magnum V6 with a four-speed AutoStick automatic. Manual gear selection does not make it a separate manual-transmission variant.
Evidence boundaries
The brochure was printed in July 1999 and describes late R/T availability. A June 2000 original road test and the exact-2000 service-manual application corroborate the period identity. The earlier announcement's planned 2001 introduction is not used to replace this approved year. The brochure's large ES illustration is not an R/T media asset.
A personally reviewed service-table image identifies a 60-degree SOHC, 24-valve V6. Its 214-cubic-inch designation is retained as printed, not claimed as a precise conversion: the same table's bore and stroke calculate to approximately 3,518 cc or 214.7 cubic inches. The mirror's separate text summary incorrectly labels the layout DOHC and is not followed. This designation discrepancy must remain visible wherever displacement is presented.
The engine sales code, final-drive ratio, universal spoiler fitment and production totals remain unresolved. No specifications from another Chrysler calibration, later Intrepid trim or competition car are substituted.
