Story
1996 Vector M12
The M12 is distinct from the earlier turbocharged W8 and the WX-3 prototypes. This page covers the approved 1996 production-road-car identity, with a Lamborghini V12 and five-speed manual transaxle, not a competition conversion.
Manufacturer evidence
The photographed M12 owner's handbook identifies its engine as the L529 V12 and provides the attributed power and torque ratings. Its displacement line prints 350 cubic inches alongside 5,707 cc. Those figures are not exact equivalents: 5,707 cc converts to about 348.3 cubic inches. The numeric 350-CID field preserves the handbook's designation, while 5.7 liters is the rounded metric description; neither is presented as a fresh measurement.
The handbook accompanied a documented 1996 car. Its sample VIN illustration is not that car's identification plate and is not used as its production date. General factory specifications are distinguished from the sale car's later tires and custom exhaust.
A separate auction's 7.0-liter V12 headline conflicts with the handbook and the documented 5.7-liter car. It is not adopted as the factory displacement. Development-report performance estimates, secondary torque figures, production totals, exact generation boundaries and final-drive ratio remain unasserted.
Photo pending
No reusable exact-year M12 exterior has been accepted. Auction photographs and handbook images are source evidence, not licensed site assets. Collection inclusion remains deferred pending normal eligibility and review.
