Story
1993 Panoz Roadster
The original Roadster combines an open aluminum body and stainless-steel chassis with Ford's 5.0-liter V8 drivetrain. It precedes the AIV Roadster's aluminum chassis and 4.6-liter engine; those later specifications do not belong to this target.
Evidence boundaries
Manufacturer history and a July 1993 feature establish the original configuration. A documented 1993 car's photographed plaque independently identifies Ford 302 H.O., chassis 93015 and December 1993. That supports the engine designation and production context, not an assumption that every surviving example retains identical equipment. The nominal 5.0-liter label is not an exact conversion of 302 cubic inches.
The period article's component-car wording and Panoz's retrospective certification chronology describe different contexts. They are not used to reclassify all 1993 cars as kits. The approved factory road-car identity is retained without a vehicle-by-vehicle regulatory claim.
Exact horsepower, torque, output rpm, numeric axle ratio, annual production totals and measured performance remain unknown in this review. The current manufacturer page's unscoped 430-hp advertisement is not a 1993 rating. The sale car's harnesses, wheels and mufflers are not promoted to standard factory equipment.
Photo pending
No reusable exact-year exterior has been accepted. The photographed plaque is technical evidence, not licensed site media. Collection inclusion remains deferred pending normal eligibility and review.
