GMC's 1993 full-line truck brochure advertises the Typhoon with a 280-horsepower turbocharged, intercooled V6, all-wheel drive, sport suspension and four-wheel anti-lock brakes. It also describes leather seating areas, adjustable lumbar support and an available CD player.
Rating discrepancy
A separate factory Typhoon foldout prints 285 hp. Its specification spread appears in archives labeled both 1992 and 1993, and the inspected imprint does not establish an exact model year. This is a documented source discrepancy, not proof of a model-year calibration change. The horsepower field therefore attributes 280 hp to the explicitly year-marked full-line brochure rather than claiming a reconciled output rating.
