Story
1991 GMC Syclone
GMC's 1991 Syclone brochure documents a turbocharged, intercooled 4.3-liter V6 with a nominal displacement of 262 cubic inches and port fuel injection. Its advertised SAE-net output is 280 horsepower at 4400 rpm, with 350 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm.
Factory drivetrain
The four-speed overdrive automatic drives a full-time all-wheel-drive system. GMC describes an approximate 35-percent front torque split, with the remainder sent rearward, and a 3.42:1 limited-slip rear differential. A water-type intercooler uses a heat exchanger below the radiator.
Equipment and evidence boundary
The brochure describes four-wheel anti-lock braking with front discs and rear drums; four-wheel ABS does not mean four-wheel disc brakes. These facts are specific to the 1991 Syclone brochure, not borrowed from a Typhoon or a later truck. Complete option applications, production totals and individual build details remain unresolved here. The existing licensed exterior photograph supplies representative context, not authentication of any particular truck's engine, equipment or originality.
