Story

1989 Pontiac Sunbird GT

Pontiac's 1989 handbook lists GT coupe and convertible models with the LT3 turbo engine. Both manual and automatic choices are retained. The LE/SE engine listings do not establish a non-turbo GT application, and older GT sedan or hatchback offerings are not carried forward by assumption.

Specification boundaries

The 122-CID field is corroborated by EPA's exact-year turbo Sunbird records. EPA does not identify GT trim, so the factory equipment matrix supplies that association. The brochure's 3.61 axle figure belongs to its manual GT coupe performance example, not every GT. Output rpm and other axle applications remain unresolved.
