Story

1988 Dodge Shadow ES Turbo

Dodge offered the ES Turbo as a two- or four-door liftback. Its package joined the turbocharged 2.2-liter four with sport-oriented equipment; it was not a Shelby CSX or CSX-T.

Application boundaries

The factory package paragraph and powertrain table establish the engine/transmission relationship. EPA's 1988 Shadow rows independently corroborate 135 CID, front drive and manual/automatic turbo applications, but do not identify ES trim.

The brochure also offers a non-turbo 2.5-liter alternative; this page covers the approved ES Turbo target, not every ES configuration. Printed overall top-gear ratios are not axle ratios. Factory engine code, final-drive ratio and production totals remain unresolved.
