Story

1979 Oldsmobile Hurst Olds

The 1979 Hurst Olds family combined two-door five-passenger notchback coupe with W30 Hurst/Olds in Cameo White, W30 Hurst/Olds in Ebony Black configurations. This page keeps those factory choices together without treating an engine, stripe, badge, or trim package as a separate car identity.

Engines and transmissions

The R-code Oldsmobile 350, carburetor, TH350, Dual-Gate, axle, emissions equipment, dates, and Lansing records define one installation. Transmission, induction, cooling, exhaust, axle, emissions equipment, and dates must match the selected engine path.

Chassis and brakes

The W30 program joined the Calais chassis to its Oldsmobile 350, TH350, Dual-Gate, 14-inch gold wheels, tires, and program trim. Brake, steering, spring, damper, axle, ratio, wheel, and tire equipment varied by configuration and must be reconciled to factory and car-specific records.

Body, trim, and proof

Start with VIN or serial, body tag, title, shell, and ownership history. Then reconcile drivetrain, chassis, protected finish, cabin, trim, dates, and records. Replaceable badges, stripes, wheels, or a swapped engine cannot establish factory configuration.
