Story
1979 Dodge Aspen R/T
The 1979 Aspen R/T family combined two-door five-passenger coupe with Aspen coupe with R/T Package, R/T Handling Performance Package configurations. This page keeps those factory choices together without treating an engine, stripe, badge, or trim package as a separate car identity.
Engines and transmissions
The R/T package, engine, induction, transmission, axle, handling equipment, body, stripes, dates, and records must be reconciled independently. Transmission, induction, cooling, exhaust, axle, emissions equipment, and dates must match the selected engine path.
Chassis and brakes
R/T appearance and handling equipment did not by itself establish one engine; powertrain, axle, brakes, and package records define a configuration. Brake, steering, spring, damper, axle, ratio, wheel, and tire equipment varied by configuration and must be reconciled to factory and car-specific records.
Body, trim, and proof
Start with VIN or serial, body tag, title, shell, and ownership history. Then reconcile drivetrain, chassis, protected finish, cabin, trim, dates, and records. Replaceable badges, stripes, wheels, or a swapped engine cannot establish factory configuration.
