Story
1957 Pontiac Bonneville
The 1957 Bonneville joined Pontiac performance with premium full-size equipment. This page keeps its body, engine, transmission, axle, chassis, trim, production, and identity evidence in one model-year record while separating every configuration path.
Engines and drivetrain
The 347-cubic-inch Strato-Streak V8 was offered in model-year-specific output and induction forms. Engine code, carburetion or fuel injection, transmission, axle ratio, cooling, exhaust, dates, and records must agree; added Tri-Power or fuel injection does not establish original delivery.
Chassis and cabin
The 124-inch-wheelbase chassis used power-assisted drum brakes and model-year suspension, steering, wheel, and tire equipment. Paint, brightwork, upholstery, instruments, and controls depended on body and selected equipment.
Identity
Begin with serial, body, trim, title, and ownership records. Reconcile the shell, drivetrain, axle, brakes, suspension, protected finish, cabin, and every dated component. Production totals describe the model family, not a survivor count or one car's authenticity.
